Manuka Lodge defines a new style of accommodation in the Ohakune Ruapehu region.
Newly built in 2008 it provides a first-rate alternative to a hotel with many of the trappings of a luxury lodge.
Perfectly located at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, it is a tranquil haven 10 minutes walk from the shops, bars and eateries of Ohakune township.
Located at the foot of the Kaikoura ranges, we offer panoramic views out to the Pacific Ocian.
Pet Information
Dogs are welcome at Manukau Lodge all year round but only if you book the exclusive use of the lodge. Our property is fully fenced so it is safe for dogs to roam free.
When booking your stay, please provide breed, age, number of dogs and what sleeping arrangements you have for your dog.
We also allow cats, and we can accommodate Horses in one of our paddocks (with the expectation that the paddock be mucked out on departure).

The Kaikoura Vets are an 8 minute drive from the lodge.
Pet Terms & Conditions
Animals must be under owner's control at all times.
We do not provide kennels, however all rooms at the lodge are pet friendly. When you book at Manakau Lodge, you get exclusive use of the lodge, and your pets are allowed inside.
Owners must clean up after their animal and remove all animal waste (a pooper scooper is available).
If we are not satisfied that your animal is under control or causes damage, we have the right to ask you to leave with no refunds given.
Local Dog Walks
There are several walking tracks that dogs can be walked off lead on:
The Hapuku River Trail, which is 1 km from our property, and can be accessed by walking from the lodge to the start of this.
The Kowhai River trail which is 10 kms away.
The Fyffe Palmer track which is a 10 minute drive, then a great native forest walk up a hill.
The ocean, beside which there is a long trail that dogs can walked on off lead. This is a 10 minute drive to the start.
